course for the Inshore
Skipper Certificate
is a course of basic
pilotage, boat handling,
seamanship and navigation
intended to assist
candidates to skipper
a vessel in familiar
waters.

prevention of collisions
at sea, basic sailing
theory, towing, stability,
navigational charts
and publications, navigational
drawing instruments,
compass, chartwork,
position fixing, tides
and tidal streams, pilotage,
visual aids to navigation,
passage planning, navigation
in restricted visibility,
meteorology. |

The
course comes in two
formats, either 6
days 5 nights where
the minimum contents
of the course are
covered or
our 10 days 9 nights
course where you receive
additional time to
practice your new
found skills and hence
ensure your competency.
Pre-requisite
prior to direct
assessment for
the Inshore
Skipper Certificate
is 200 NM and/or
10 days Yachting
Experience .

6
day 5 night cruises
include: 6 days
and 4 or 5 nights
crusising the Whitsunday
Islands with only
one or two nights
at the Abel Point
Marina [this depends
on vessel, passage
plan and weather].
The
crew will meet you
at the Abel Point
Marina Airlie Beach
on the morning of
the first dayand the
vessel will head out
to sea within a few
hours following a
full vessel and safety
briefing.
The places the vessel
cruises during the
week depend on wind
and tide but are sure
to include some of
the best sailing,
snorkelling and beach
locations in the Whitsundays.
